This artwork is one of the images from the series called: “Witchy Weeds”, dedicated to the astrological planets of the Solar System. Each planet is represented through the plant that it patronises, as well as the numerous symbols corresponding to it.
This piece depicts, "Moon", through the sacred lotus flower. The Moon symbolises passive feminine initial, called to love, care, nourish and gently protect. The Moon (mother) receives the light of the Sun (father) and its impulse of creation, just as a woman's womb or the Earth receives a seed to nurture it. At the base of the picture you see the uterus as a symbol of the cosmic cradle of all life.
